I'm new to the forum and I've done as much searching as I can but don't seem to find a similar problem.
I have a slim line keg of Sam Adams hooked up...first key using a very old perlick tap. It seems to tap ok and my CO2 reads about 12 PSI. When I open the handle I get VERY little beer but a lot of CO2. It's almost like the CO2 is not going into the keg and is coming right back out the spout.
Do you think the tap could be bad? I took it apart and gave it a good cleaning. Seems pretty simple so I don't think I put it back together wrong. The lines are all new som I'm sure there is no blockages.
I think that it is. I followed the instructions on how to tap the keg that is here on MM. Is there anything that I would expect to see/hear when I put the tap in?
Perlick couplers have a removable probe tip. If this is loose the gas will bypass the keg and route directly into the line. If this is not the culprit, check the seal on top of the keg for damage.
