Default Danby Replacement Faucet

I'm trying to confirm something I was told regarding replacing my Danby faucet.

A friend told me that Danby uses special faucets and towers. Apparently the towers are not compatible with the standard 1-1/8"-18 thread faucets that Micro sells.

Can anyone confirm that this is true? I would like to order a new faucet but want to sort out what exactly I need.

I would like to know also, I have the 645 model. I recently replaced the regulator with a MM premium and that was a major improvement.

I've heard that the Avanti uses non-standard parts, and that Danby used to be hit or miss. I think if you have a newer Danby (645), it's standard. If I were you, I'd order a new faucet, and if it doesn't fit, just order a MM shank, and report back. You can replace the shank without replacing the whole tower. If you want a new faucet, you know you're going to do it eventually, regardless. But I think you should be OK.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might
be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."

Mine was manufactured January of 2008. And the stock Danby shank fit my MM faucet just fine. No leaks. Since then, I have orered and hooked up a MM shank just to have all the conections from MM.

I dont see why it wouldnt. My MM Stout faucet and MM ale faucet hooked up with no leaks just fine. All the faucet connections should be the same.

My Danby is about 6 years old. Model # DKC445BLS

I'm not sure what to do.

The replacement elbow shank was a good recommendation, but after looking at mine I don't know if it will work. My current shank doesnt seem to have a slip on connector for the beer line. The line seems crimped onto the shank.

Can I just cut the line and slip it onto the new shank?

Lastly, the replacement shanks show 7/8"-14 thread. Will that fit the 1-1/8"-18 Thread that is listed for the replacement faucets?

The 7/8 -14 listed is for the beer line fitting end.
