Default D Coupler won't lock

Hi all. I just purchased a very old and used converted kegerator made from Micromatic parts. The coupler and the faucet are very new, so I just had to replace the lines, clean the parts, and it was good to go. I bought a pony keg of Yuengling, but found that I couldn't get the coupler to "lock in" with the keg. It wouldn't allow me to rotate it far enough, so even when I pull the lever down, I can easily take the coupler off of the keg. Although I can't really tell, I assume I am leaking gas, and the beer is pretty much all foam unless I set the pressure at less than 8 psi, which means a super, super slow pour. The temp is about right, so I'm assuming it's the bad coupler connection.

I'm currently trying to find a friend who has a tap so I can see if it's the keg, or the coupler. Is this a normal occurence, or, assuming it's the coupler, should I replace it?

Thanks.

Bottom seal may be worn. Determine manufacturer and replace.
