Angry G coupler problems. Can't tap.

I'm no expert at home taps, nor am I a novice.

However, I can't seem to tap my 1/2 keg of Anchor Steam with my new G coupler. It's really beginning to **** me off.

I know you place it over the keg, and turn clockwise 90 degrees. Then pull the coupler handle down to effectively tap it. I can't turn the coupler 90 degrees. For whatever reason, it won't let me. I know I'm lined up properly, but it won't turn.

Please help! ASAP! Thanks.

Default one more thing.

I have 2 G couplings. One is from a handpump from a local liquor store, the other I bought.

The rented one seems to work, but the new one I bought doesn't turn (as I mentioned before).

What is going on? This is really weird! Help anyone?!?!

Are the tangs fully falling into the grooves? Try pushing down and twisting maybe. I know my U-Coupler needs some pretty good muscle to get it to turn.

Question Good thinking, but...

I've tried that. I'm a pretty thick dude and know it's not the muscle part.

What doesn't make sense, is that I can tap the rented G coupler but not the G coupler I bought. The coupler I bought doesn't seem to fit properly on the keg.

And yes, I'm positive it is a G.

I'm running out of ideas. Anyone?

could be a possible manufacturing error. Visually put the two couplers next to each other and check all thicknesses. If you have a micrometer, that will give you percise measurments. There has to be something physically wrong with the coupler if one will go on and one wont. This rules out the keg valve.

Check, DOuble check, and triple check all the sizes of anything that makes contact with the keg valve.

Sorry I cant help you out any better.
