Noise from inside Danby
I just started hearing a grinding/grating noise coming from the small fan on the inside of my Danby kegerator. I am not sure what is causing the problem. I took off the white plastic cover and exposed the small fan on the wall of the unit...any suggestions? Does the fan increase speed at certain times? It seems like once or twice an hour, the noise occurs. Maybe a bearing...wish I knew more about it, or they had a service manual. This is a stock fan that came with it. The kegerator is maybe a year old.
I am one of those not too electronically inclined...where is the thermastat sensor to put into water to get a more accurate temperature?

It certainly sounds like you have a motor that has bearings starting to go. Those little motors are not worth repairing, it would cost less to replace it. The motor is not that expensive to begin with.
The fan speed should be constant.

the fan inside the danby shouldn't make any noise. I never hear it when it runs. The fan is cheap, I would recommend replacing it. If you have warranty service, call for it. If not, you can call Danby and they will be able to sell you a replacement fan, and it really shouldn't cost much.

Thanks for the diagnosis...I believe it is out of warranty. If it is, should I bother with another Danby fan, or buy an after market one. I've read a bunch of posts and remember others adding bigger fans, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated.

As far as installation, goes OEM is the way to go. Not all motors mount in the same way.
