Post Tower Insulation

Is it necessary to insulate the tower if I will be installing a cooling kit in a kegerator? Will there be a lot of condensation on the outside of the tower?

It is highly recommended to insulate the tower, this will help prevent condensation, and energy loss, especially if it's a metal tower. ABS Plastic towers are much better natural insulators by nature and do not necessarily need insulation. Most towers come with a sleeve of of foam insulation and a small circular piece for the top.
