Default tower cooling

Found this picture of what is supposed to be a perlick tower. It has a metal line and what looks like a cooling plate from the tower. Is this a good idea to incorporate in tower cooling?

5 will get you 10 thats not a cooling plate but rather a piece of metal that controls the airflow. Cold air has to go to the top of the tower, then return if it's going to keep the beer cold all the way to the top of the tower. That metal thing is probably a divider that separates the supply air from the return air. Just my 2 cents. Say what you want to do cooling-wise and this forum will set you up correctly.

I have mine with the blower and hose up into the tower as mentioned on here. Works fine , just saw this and thought it might be another way to do it.

mornin, that is just an air difusser to direct the flow of air through the tower. sort of a way to eliminate the tower hose. my motto is if it aint broke, dont mess with it ! cya, brianatkcdraft.
