Default Transporting kegs?

I'm going to be getting my beer from a place roughly an hour drive away. Should it be refrigerated this whole time?

If it was me, I'd buy one of those cheap plastic keg tubs and keep it on ice.

I've transported beer from a microbewery ~1 hour away in the middle of summer in Dallas in the back of my truck with no problems. Replace it today, tap it tomorrow and it'll be fine.

Draft beer starts to spoil above 50 degrees. I would do whatever necessary to keep it cool during the ride.

My two cents;

It'll be fine but don't let it sit in the direct sunlight. Throw a blanket over it or something. Also, don't plan on tapping it right away. You will have to let it cool down to your fridge temp (38 or so) before it will pour properly. If you want to drink it that day I would keep it in a tub of ice as skinsfan mentioned.

No worries there, I was going to let it sit for that very same reason. Also because it would have been slightly shaken up. But I'll try and cool it some either way. The tub of ice could be an idea. Might tape some ice packs to it too while I'm there. Just to be on the same side.

Thanks for the advice guys!
