Default dumb question

I am a new kegerator owner so I really have go idea what I am doing but here is my question. I have had a keg at lager at 29 degrees for about 3 days now and I am just realizing that its just too cold. Will bringing the temp up about 10 degrees spoil the beer?

Thanks
Todd

No...the beer does not start to spoil until it is above about 50 degrees.

Just be sure that when you raise the temperature you adjust the CO2 pressure.
Most lagers should be served at 38 degrees and 14psi of pressure.

thanks for your response. I was more concerned about the temp changing rather than the temp being too high. Sounds like it won't be a problem.

Beersock,

Know that you may have over carbonated your beer, depending on what your CO2 psi is set at. Most beer is usually served at 38 degrees @ 12-14 psig. You should drop the psi 1 pound for every 2 degree drop in temperature.

Nothing you can really do about it now, but if your psi was higher than 8 or 9 when the beer was at 29 degrees, it may be a little over carbonated.

Jackstraw, thanks for the helpful info. Funny you should say that because when I turned the temp down I also raised the psi after reading on the forums the proper psi for lager (not considering temp).

Live and learn I guess.

Thanks again
Todd
