Default Foam Solution?

Yes.. I have read the incredible amount of threads dealing with foam.... Heres what I have learned, and please correct me if im wrong, specific to a Summit SBC-500.
1. Dont be tempted to reduce the psi to 10 or lower even if it produces a better pour.
2. Use a longer beer line, approx. 8ft to allow for the higher psi but not the fast pour.
3. Make sure the tower is the same temp as the actual keg.
4. install a blower to facilitate the cooling of the tower.

So my questions specific to my summit are these.
A. is this a common prob with summit (most everyone seems to have a danby)
B. Im not installing a blower... in the end Ill destroy something and make the problem worse, I am technolically illieterate. Can I buy a "super insulated tower?" I have the standard ******* tower that seems to be plastic.
C. I read somewhere that the actual faucet may have an impact... Could this be true? I know the chrome plate one is cheap and eventually will get rust or other junk in my beer, but does it actually affect foam? (what faucet should I get, brass?)
D. The whole tower thing makes sense... except, after a beer, I go to pour the second withinn 10 min... could that beer thats in the tower actually warm that much in that time to cause foam....
Given the numerous amount of posts about this issue, I appreciate your help in my specific case...

The amount of insulation in the tower will effect how fast the beer warms up, but there's only a couple oz's of warm beer in it. Pour until the beer runs clear, chug, dump or get another glass and pour clear beer into this. Not familiar with the summit, I have a danby, but warm beer = foam no matter what it's in. I too have heard of faucets being an issue, try a Search Forum and see what turns up. Otherwise make sure you turn the faucet on/off rapidly.

Talking Simple Foam Solution

If you are continuously having issues with foamcheck your backflow preventer and make sure it is NOT in backwards. If you unscrew the nut that connects the beer hose to the kegt coupler there is a plastic back flow preventer (mine is white). It should be installed with the ball end facing down. Although it functions either way. Ball up causes lots of foam. BALLS down baby!

Fast Pours with clear beer!

Cheers,
BIG DADDY!

I have the same system and I'm having the same problem. I think the tower is getting too warm and my first glass of beer is always mostly foam.

See post #2 here, HELP! This foam is killing me!

Do a "search forum" on "tower cooling" for more info.
