Default Sanyo Not Cold Enough

I got a Sanyo 1206 in May. First keg was a 1/4 barrel, beer kept at 38 degrees with room to spare on the thermostat. Now I have a 1/2 barrel of Sam Adams, and cannot get it colder than 44 degrees with the thermostat pegged.

Besides changing out the thermostat, is there something else I can do to get it colder? I saw a mention about a fix for Haier kegerators mentioned in a different post, but I couldn't find the details.

Thanks.

TerryM
