Default Retapping after cleaning

I have a twist on beer coupler and every time after cleaning it is extremely difficult to retap the keg. Beer shoots out everywhere, it's a big mess. How easy and clean should it be to retap the keg?

Not sure as to what "twist" means?? What type of beer are you dispensing? Should be very easy with no mess.

By "twist on", I think you mean a coupler that you turn a 1/2 turn or so to connect. However, your coupler should also have a lever on top that actually engages it with the keg. You may be leaving this in the down position, causing your mess. Make sure your handle is in the up, or "off" position when you twist the coupler on. Then pull the handle down and you will have no mess whatsoever.
