Hello and thanks for the info
i just bought a danby from sams and had the same problems that everyone one here has had too warm!!! but i did the resister mod and i put an 85cfm 12 volt fan inside aimed up at the tower and i am enjoying ice cold beer as i type!!!

Welcome to the forum. Glad to hear your danbys working better, but an 85cfm fan? You must have a tornado inside that thing! If you have the DKC645 the inside volume is only 5.8 cu ft.

i have the dkc645bls and yes it moves some air, i dont really believe that its 85 cfm or that if blowing air around really makes it cooler? but i think it couldnt hurt
|

Having constant air movement is a big plus, but an 85cfm fan may generate some heat. Just something to watch out for.

just an update when i turn off the fan the air temp goes to 39 degrees with fan on stays at 30-32 degrees with the resistor mod done as well, i shouldnt even need the fan to get it that cold with the 33k resister right?

The fan isn't to make it get down to temperature, it is to even out the temperature. And I'd not try to get my beer that cold.

well i figured the liquid temp is gonna be a few degrees warmer than the air right? why do you say that i have it too cold? i am new to this whole thing but my first keg went good thanks to you all.

There are a few reasons to not get the beer that cold.
Too cold causes more co2 to be disolved into the beer.
Freezing your line or worse yet your keg can be a pain and ruin the beer.
And most beer tastes better at the proper serving temperature.

I keep lagers at 38 and ales 45ish. The warmer the beer, the more flavor IMHO.
