new BM23 and Anchor Steam
new poster here, love the forum and have learned a ton reading thru the other threads.
Just bought a brand new BM23, trying anchor steam as I love it on tap when i can find it.
Tower is cooled, liquid thermometer showing about 40 degrees although I am trying to get it down to 38 right now. currently using the 5' of 3/16 that came with the BM23 and its flying out way too fast. according to the brewery there are 2.8 volumes of CO2, so set it around 17 psi. I have 10' of 3/16 in reserve, thinking of using all of it and seeing what happens, then cutting back to 7 or 8 feet if necessary.
any other advice? I am getting really foamy beer, then those large soapy bubbles that I used to get with my old system that was way too warm. the only constant between the 2 systems is the regulator and I am thinking of replacing that. There is a small hole on the front that gas is coming out of, is this they way its supposed to work? I dont remember gas flying out of there before, but I see the little hole on the regulators sold by micromatic, am I going to run out of CO2 in 1 keg b/c of this? any help? thanks
