Default kegerator problems

i have been reading alot of the posts on here and some have helped me out a lot, but i still am having problems. i have a keg of bud light. temp is 40 degrees. i have tried psi's at 10, 12,14, and 18. i have a 5' line. i still get about 2-3" of head on a beer, but if i pour multiple beers, only the first one gets head. also i get little to no air bubbles in my beer after i pour it. i would greatly appreiciate any help i get.

another question i have is, if i make a change (i.e. the pressure), how long should i wait to dispense the beer to see if the change was effective? also the beer seems to come out extremely fast, could that be part of the problem?

I can't comment on the second matter but as for the first 40F is too high a temp for Bud Lt. Jack it down to 36F

Seems to me that you have a hot spot at the tower. Check ythis out and get back with actual beer keg temp. and elevation.

i have finally gotten everything figured out. my problem was with the tap and facuet. in the tap, the ball was stuck and would not move up or down. with the facuet, there was unneccessary resistence when i tried to dispense. i appreiciate all of the help i have gotten thus far.
