Need some help, on foamy beer.
I have a converted fridge into a kegerator tap coming out the side. I am using full keg of Miller Lite. The problem is that I had a temp problem and the beer was at about 49 degrees for a week while I was out of town. I fixed the temp, and am reading a liquid temp of 36 degrees (glass of water in the fridge), with a calibrated thermometer. My psi is set at 12 and am getting 1/4 to 1/2 of foam. It has been this temp and this psi for 3 days now. The hose is 3/16 i.d at 4ft 8in. long. It comes out clear , but as soon as it hits the glass its pretty much foam. It has always come out fast at this psi of 12. Before I had read this forum I had just turned the psi down to 7, which I found out was a bad idea from you guys. So now I want to do this right. Is my beer over carbonated? Should I decarbonate and how? Does my line need to be longer? (6ft) Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks..

Update
I read some posts on taking the carbonation out of the beer so I shut everything down and pulled the pin on the side and let out the air. Shook the keg and did it multiple times. It seemed to pour out a little slower. The pressure is still at 12psi and I poured a beer. It came out slower and head was pretty good. Will I build up pressure again, or will I have an issue again. Everything else is the same from the previous thread. Thanks for any help..

Sitting at that temperature for a week may have spoiled the beer. how does it taste and smell?

Thanks for the reply
umm it tastes pretty good still, but if the beers spoiled would that be a foam issue? I was wondering that, but wasn't sure. Does my line sound like its long enough? 4ft 8 in. It always kind of had a foam problem, but like I said before I researched on here i just turned it down to 7psi. Comes out clear then hits the glass and foams. Thanks for your help, i'm still kind of a rookie at this. Your guys help is great.

4'-8" may be a bit short, but not too bad. You say it is clear until it hits the glass. What do you clean your glasses with and how? Search for "beer clean glass" and see if that helps. Also make sure to start with the glass tilted and don't let the faucet touch the glass keeping it an inch away. Then as the glass fills, start tilting upright and finish pouring through the middle to make a head at the top.

Thanks again.
Yeahh I am not cleaning my glasses right for sure. I just stick them in with the other dishes. I will stop doing that and do that pouring method. Thanks for the help. I think i'm going to order longer hose, it does come out pretty fast. Any suggestions for the length? Its 4ft 8 in. now. I think i have my temp and psi right.. 36deg. and 13psi. Thanks again.
