Default Strange Pour Rate Issue

Hey Fellas,
So I've poured prolly about 40 kegs out of my kegerator that I built. It's a 3 tower setup in a 15.5 gallon converted freezer chest. So I decided to brew my own beer. Which was a cool experience. Instead of botteling it, I asked them to keg it for me. I got the keg back to my place and hooked it up just like always, but holly god Beer literally SHOOTS out of the tap like a rocket! My first reaction was of course to check the gas.... The regulation was the same as always and for kicks I unplugged the gas off the coupler and tried pouring again.... Same thing Beer literally shoots out of the tap even with no gas connected?! I'm about out of ideas, but I do have a hand pump with a bleeder valve... I could bleed off the pressure from the keg entirely. I'm wondering if because this came from a custom brewery that doesn't do a lot of kegs, perhaps they pumped the beer into the keg too pressurized?!
