Tower cover when outside
Does anyone know if a cover exist for the tower of a kegerator? (Summitt)
When we have parties our kegerator will be outside in our island. We will have it outside for a few days at a time, and I was wondering if there is a cover I can slip over the tower so it is not in the sun (we have an umbrella built into the island, but at certain times in the afternoon the tower is not completely shaded).

Excessive Foam on Nitro Tap & Smithwicks
Sorry for the odd post - but I'm new to the forum and couldn't figure out how to start a new thread.
Anyway, I'm trying to dispense Smithwicks on a nitro tap and getting WAY too much foam. Nice and creamy, but no churning beer with it - just pure creamy foam. Takes a good 15min to settle, and even then you only get a half glass. Never had this trouble with a Guinnes/Murphys. Is there simply too much carbonation in Smithwicks?? Any ideas how to correct this?

Smithwicks does not need to be dispensed with a stout faucet, and not with a 75% N2/25%CO2 mix.

I have been looking online and did not see one. Also inside kegerators are not meant to be used outside...the reason...the indoor kegerator are meant to be in heat around 72-77 degrees...most peoples house temp inside. Now if you put your kegerator or andy fridge outside the compressor has to work overtime to keep the inside temp cool, since the heat outside will be hotter then what it should be. Understand? I take mine outside only if the temp is under 80 degrees, and I keep a cold towel wrapped around the tower to make sure I dont get foam.

cover for inside
With the remnants of Fay coming through Atlanta, it's been extremely humid in the house the last few days and my tower has been sweating more than I've ever seen before.
This reminds me I was going to ask one of my craftier friends if they would crochet me a "tower cozy" (like a tea cozy) I could put on the tower for a little added insulation when I'm not using it. I don't know if it would really make all that much difference, but it would be an interesting experiment.
I also thought about using something along the lines of a really big oven mitt.

I have covered my tower with 2 pieces of 1 3/4 foam pipe insulation, (biggest I could find) held together with nylon wire ties. Not pretty, but it works.
