Default stupid question on c02

guess I never give much thought where empty tanks are filled. any difference of quality if tank swap is done through local welding supply shop? Should I be running filter?
Have had unit for 2 years. I guess it's never to late for stupid Q's.

Welding shop co2 is fine as far as I know. You could also look for an industrial gas shop in your area as well. They might be a little cheaper too.

I get my gas (CO2/Nitrogen) from a welding shop and no problems here. They laughed when I asked about a filter! They said any reputable dealer the gas should never have contaminants. So I never bothered with one.

Default co2 refill

I have had mine refilled at a local paint ball shop with no problems. Has anyone heard of having to replace your tank after 5 years? A friend of mine told me this after taking his tank to a welder supply company and they said they could not refill his tank because it was older than 5 years. They sold him a new one. Sounds kinda odd???

A tank has to be hydrostatically tested every so many years to be certified for filling. His was probably due. He could have paid someone to re-test it, or found somewhere that exchanges tanks rather than fills tanks. The weld supply shop here exchanges tanks, but I go to the paintball store where they fill the tank. So when my tank is near expiration, I'll just take it to the weld place and get an exchange.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might
be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."

yes the tanks are only good for a while and must be replaced periodically. just as propane tanks are for the grills.
