Default Flow Speed?

How can I cut my pour speed down without changing PSI or extending my beer line? Any unconventional ways? My beer is shooting out very fast and getting very foamy pours. My temp is 38 and PSI is 16 (but I have tried 14 also)

The only way is to balance your system. how long is the line, what is the inside diameter of the line, where do you live (ft above sea level), what brand are you pouring, and do you maintain 38 constantly?

5ft line that came with the MM door kit (3/16 i think)
700ft above see level
Erdinger is the beer
and yes my fridge stays at 38 (we I use to think it was) ITS COLDER !

The Widmer Hefenweizen pour great... but the great ERDINGER is being a pain !

You need longer beer line for the Erdinger. Try a 7 ft piece and trim back if need be. Also a secondary regulator for that keg might help, just to make sure it's getting the proper pressure it needs, and to make it eaiser for any adjustments you might need to make for that beer that the others would not need.
Beyond that, the only other way to control the pour like your asking about in an 'unconventional' way is with a flow control faucet. I think that a system should be balanced with proper restriction built in, but a flow control faucet can help sometimes.
It is like a built in restriction itself really, and you can control how much of it you need.

Just ordered 2 more feet, splice and clamps.
See if that will help.

DOH !!!

Just checked my thermometer and it was off using the ice water test.
I put some ice in a cup of cold water and let it set for about 10 minutes.
Stirred it up and my thermo didnt hit 32.

So I have calibrated my thermo and my beer is coming out about 33 to 34.
So I have increased the fridges temp a bit.

Plus I have some water in a cup to see what it reads tomorrow.

Default Still Foaming

Well I installed my new line yesterday and still got the same ole foamy issue !

My temps are right @ 38 now and it doesnt seem like its coming out to fast.
All I got to do is dump about 18 oz. of foam and I get a decent second pour.
If I wait an hour or so and pour again I just repeat the waste !

So who knows ... it was worth the try !

I guess I can afford to waste it... I am the only one drinking it... except the occasional scraggler that drops by

I'm still thinking that 38 is too cold for that type of beer. And IMHO, you are missing out on a lot of the flavor and aroma with it that cold.

So what do you think ? 46 to 50 as the coupler cap recommends?
I bet the life of it will be a lot shorter at that temp...

I'd try at least 43 or 44 then.

Well I would be happy with no foam...
The temp doesn't bother me that much.
Most places that I have had it server it at the same
as the rest of there in house beers. (same cooler)

It is just frustrating pouring out 18oz of foam

Just swapped over to 60/40 mix of Co2/N also....

Blended Gas inst helping... not that I thought it would..
Just don't want to over carbonate...

Every pour needs a a full hefe glass dump of foam...

Even 3 minutes later if I pour for a friend I have to dump a glass
of foam... Guess I need to go to a more simpler beer ! LOL

But this beer is so awesome ! I think it's the perfect hefe.
going to look into the dunkelweizen by Erdinger...
It comes in a 7.75.
