Default Hose Question?

I recently purchased a wing nut style coupler from a local party shop. It included a 1/4in hose for co2, and a 5/16 hose for the beer line. I have been getting huge foam issues, which I believe was due to reducing the 5/16 hose to 3/16 in the middle of the line. After trying several different psi, I went back to the LpS and he gave me a 1/4in fitting because they didn't have any 3/16. I'm able to fit the 3/16in hose around the 1/4 fitting, but curious if this would cause any issue? I'm just trying to avoid making an online order for $1.00 item and paying more for shipping and having to wait to drink this killians.

Thanks
Squeeky

The 1/4" tail will not cause an issue. What temperature is the beer (liquid!), where do you live and how long is the 3/16" Also, have you calibrated your thermometer?
