Default Pssssssssssst

I just hooked up a new barrel and I can hear and feel C02 coming out of a small hole in the front of the regulator. I have NEVER heard this in the last 10 barrels. I am hoping it is bleed off from the Keg that may be over changred?

If I put my finger over the hole, the pressure gauge shoots up to 50PSI, if this is an indication of a regulator being shot I need to know now to save the barrel.

I hear the hiss even with the barrel valve shut. As soon as i turn the pressure screw I can hear and feel gas.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hole in the diaphram in the regulator. If it's an older regulator buy a new one. If it's new you, can buy a rebuild kit from MM.
