Loose Shank
I bought my system from you back in September and have run through several
kegs since then. I am having a problem with the tower. The connection of the
tower to the spout has become very loose. The piece that screws the spout
onto the tower is tight but the piece that has the screw/coupling on it, is
very loose up against the tower. Is there a way to take apart the tower and
tighten this up? Right now it is all floppy and the tap handle hangs over to
the side rather than straight up.
Thanks,
Don

You need to tighten the shank nut from inside the tower.
1. Take the cap off
2. Grip the faucet with one hand, then using the 1" tower wrench (D8JE) tighten the nut.
3. Replace cap
The shank becoming loose is very common. It is best to have the right tool for the job. But if you are in a pinch: you can use a flat head screwdriver and a hammer. Not recommend as a long term solution since this method will wear on the tower nut.
Make sure of the tower nut size: It could be either 1" or 1-1/16". We have wrenches for either size.
Please note: DO NOT spin the faucet around to tighten the nut - you will end up kinking the beer line.

Be certain to leave faucet on shank as the shank nut is tightened. You can use the faucet as leverage and the c-clip will nut come off if you overtighten.

I am also having the same problem. What is the best way to get the cap off without damaging it or the tower?

My cap has been stuck in the past as well, Once I used a plastic ruler and just shoved it up, didnt scratch. You could also try a screwdriver with a thin towel over it not to leave any marks. I just took a screwriver when it wouldnt budge to the back of the cap and popped it off, you can only see a tiny scratch if you crawl behind the kegerator and look very closly.
