Default Cleaning for 1st time question...

I just picked up my used kegerator and of course, it needs to be cleaned. Should I hire a professional to do it (if so, where would I find one in the Detroit area)...or should I do it myself...if so, what do I need????

Let me know because I am clueless!!!

Also, when you pour a beer and it comes out EXTREMELY flat, does that mean the Co2 is empty, or the keg is bad??? Lord knows how old it is...

you should invest in a line cleaning kit($30-$50), you can find them through this sight. i personally would recommend replacing at least the beer line initially, since its probably pretty bad. try 6' of 3/16 ID. flat poring is usually, like most issues, a temp or pressure issue, in this case too cold or too low.....but based on the fact you dont know how old the keg is i wouldnt drink it even if you paid me the ensuing hospital bill in advance

I agree about replacing the line if you don't know how they were maintained. Beer line doesn't cost that much and it is cheap insurance to avoid problems.
