Default CO2 tank empty? HELP

Bought my first keg yesterday. Everything seemed ok for a day or so but eventully I lost pressure and the CO2 tank has no pressure. All I can think is there was a leak some how? How can I tell if the tank is empty or not? Any help would be appreciated.

LVDW,

Get your tank filled and hookup your co2 to the coupler, turn the pressure on and have a bowl of soapy water near by and coat the co2 line and beer line with the soapy water - if you see bubbles anywhere thats where your leak is. Also, check you Rubber O-Rings for proper seating, cracks, or breaks (this also includes coupler), you might also want to check the bleed valve on the coupler to make sure it's fully closed - this is pretty easy since you will have beer shooting out from it if the keg is under pressure. If you can't find anything wrong in any of these areas than check the connections around the regulator.

It weighs noticeably less when empty. If you have a dual gauge regulator then you could look at the left hand gauge. If it reads nothing then the tank is empty. A full tank in the fridge will read 500, a full tank outside is about 800 psi. You may have missed the gasket that goes between the regualtor and the tank. This will often cause a tank to drain.
