Default C02 tank makes big noise

I put on the tubes and clamped them. I put on the regulator and the two ports for lack of better word have valves turned off. I turn the faucet like thing on top of the tank and it makes a very loud noise and then I turn it off. I then use little ring and release pressure.

What the heck? I tightened the nut where the regulator meets the tank twice. It seems snug. I don't know how to work the knob in front that regulates the psi but shouldn't have to until I turn the tank on, right? I will call the beverage ******* place tomorrow to find out how to turn the knob or at least which way and when.

What am I doing wrong? No beer tonight....

Do you have a plastic washer in the regulator, where it connects to the tank? If you don't, that could cause a leak.

The guy gave me one, but the regulator already has one inside. Should I add the one the fire extinguisher guy gave me to the one already there>

    Thanks,

Figured it out.. well the fire extinguisher guy did.. I took it to him this morning with the regulator on and he said that the psi thingie was set wide open. I did not know which way to turn the thing, no screw, just knob with locking nut. He showed me how and all is well.

I hate that noise!! I really wish there had been a little more instruction with this stuff. Most is self expanatory and I was able to set up the kegerator even though the pre drilled holes were not correct. I had to drill three of them to fit the tower.

    Thanks for trying to help,
Ellie..... maybe beer tonight! I hope the keg does not make noise ..
