    Default Sanyo BC-1207S drilling

Has anyone drilled a hole in the side of a sanyo cooler to run a blower? Are their freon lines or anything to worry about?

    Default Did you drill?

    Tom-

Did you ever find the answer? I also have the Sanyo/Summit with a dual faucet tower and am reluctant to drill any holes in the kegerator. But since my kegerator is outside and the sun hits the tower in the afternoon, I realize I'm going to have to do something with it, at the very least a cover. What did you end up doing?

    Thanks,

    Guy

Default I moved to hole in the counter and tiled...

now I dont have any lines exposed to outside air...I am going to air cool the tower with a blower...Until then, I widened the opening in the top of the cooler to accomodate a 2.5" PVC pipe. I installed the cooler under the counter and pushed the PVC up to the countertop flush with the tower. Some expanding foam around the pvc for insulation finished it off.

But won't you still need to drill a hole in the kegerator for the blower electrical cord? And where do you plan to mount the blower? I have a 5 gallon keg of Sierra Nevada and a 7.75 gallon keg of Miller Light and it is a pretty tight fit.

    Default good call...

The PVC pipe sticks up from the hole in the top of the fridge and goes through the counter to the tower.

I will just widen the hole on tip to accomodate the power cord on the outside of the PVC pipe and then use foam insulation to seal.

I am trying to avoid cutting into the side of the unit for fear of ruining the whole thing.
