Default Brewer's Edge Question, Chest Conversion

My question is regarding my Brewer's Edge II settings, but this is some background.

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum, but very much a beer enthusiast. Like so many I tried to take the cheap route, and bought a non-commercial kegerator. Of all the ones to choose from, I chose and Avanti, and hated it, just returned it today.

I have decided to convert my frigidaire chest freezer to a kegerator. I got my kit in the mail today, and my chest freezer was delivered. I decided that since temperature was such an issue with my avanti i wanted to get the temp right before i started drilling, and putting the kegs inside.

My question is, what are the proper numbers for all of the settings on the brewer's edge. I set the setpoint for 38 degrees, and a dif or 1, and then i tried too. It keeps waiting until it gets all the way to 32 degrees and freezing the water that my thermometer is in before it turns the freezer off. Am I just an idiot and did not understand the directions, or has someone else had some trouble and can help?? Thanks in advance I really appreciate any help.

it depends alot on where you mount the thermostat sensing bulb, you can't just throw it inside the freezer. put it in a glass of water. Off @37 diff of 1-2
