Default Moosehead Lager Setup

I just tapped a 1/2 barrel of Moosehead Lager. The 1st pint all foam but the second was almost perfect.

I have the unit set to 38 deg. and 13 psi on the C02. Typical right.

Anyone familiar with Moosehead? Are these optimum conditions?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't speak for Moosehead, but I know all other Canadian breweries fill with the same co2 volumes, so I would imagine that Moose does as well. You should be fine with your settings if you are around sea level.

What is the temp of the initial pour into the glass? A foamy first pint is usually a sign of a warm tower. You may want to put a thermometer into a glass of water inside the fridge to get the liquid temp.

Default all settled and pouring beautifully

I have a frigidaire through the front setup so there is no tower. the temps all checked out well but considering how much beer i have pushed through this unit since getting it last month i thought maybe some heavy cleaning was due.

I pulled off the faucet and the coupler and cleaned them along with the supply line with the micromatic cleaning kit. When done i let the keg settle and the temperature settle itslef back to 38 and now the pours are perfect from the first pint to the last pint of the night.

thanks or the reply, keep pouring!
