Help with a leak
I recently bought a used Summit kegerator and I am having C02 leak issues. I just finished my first keg and I had to use two seperate C02 canisters which I had just filled, now both canisters are empty. I saw a bit of white residue on the top of the tap but it is no coming from the tube. Do I need a new tap and if so how the heck do I get the old one off? I can't seem to remove any of the tubes from this tap.
Thanks!

Here is a picture of the tap. The leak is coming from the area where the tube meets the tap but I cant get the tube off without possibly damaging something.

That looks like the beer line, not the gas line. It is a crimped fitting. Get a new tailpiece and a hose clamp. http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-...-pid-526A.html

co2 leak
Greetings to all....Could it possibly be a leak between co2 bottle and regulator? The newer type regulators have a machined groove and a pressed o-ring on it. over time, they will wear out. If I understand your message, you bought the unit used. See if you can find a fiber disc washer to go between tank and regulator. They are located in MMs catalogue, or maybe you could snag one from where you fill up your tanks.................cya Brianatkcdraft

The reason I think the leak is coming from the beer line is because I saw a lot of white residue on that connection. Would C02 leak from the beer line fast enough to drain two 5-gallon tanks in two days?
Thanks for your help!

psycodad - That piece you linked to looks like a piece I already have but I have no idea how I would install it since the piece the hose is crimped to does not unscrew from anything. Is this a cheap tap that needs to be replaced or am I missing something?

I don't think so. If you had a leak there it would be beer not co2. Have you tried spraying the lines and connectors with soapy water? That is the easiest way to find a leak. One 5lb tank of co2 should last at least 5 - 1/2 barrels.

You have a crimped fitting. You need the a new tailpiece with a barbed fitting and a hose clamp. Cut the hose just before the old fitting where it is crimped and install the new tailpiece. All the stuff you have is likely fine, the crimped connection is just leaking it appears.
