Leaking Faucet/Shank

Hello,

I have a beer tower with two holes cut out for faucets. Right now, for whatever reason, when a keg is hooked up to my system, beer starts to leak from the joint where the OD tubing connects to the shank. I took the entire faucet assembly apart, replaced some washers and o-rings which were extremely worn, and once put together, the system still leaks. Is there anyway of reinforcing the OD tube to shank joint? If so, how can this be done. Any help is GREATLY appriciated.

How does the tubing connect to the shank?

You may just need to tighten the clamp and hose. If there isn't one then that may be the problem.

If this is a welded joint and it is leaking, either find someone to reweld or replace the shank.

Scott is correct, if the shank has a bent tube welded to the back it needs to be re-welded or replaced. If the line connects to a 90 degree tube that goes into the center of the shank then you have a compression fitting. Inside the shank is an 'O' ring that usually gets crushed and out of round. Was that one of the rings you replaced? I only purchase the welded shanks for just that reason. Less trouble over the long run, and my fingers don't fit inside those little tubes anyway!

As you have predicted, I think I do need to get this re-welded. What I am unsure of however, is how do I get to the o-ring inside of the shank which you said should be replaced?

the o-ring is in the shank with the compression fitting. if you need to get it re-welded then you dont have to worry about the o-ring because you dont have one
