Default First time cleaning problem :(

So I took off my faucet to clean it. Now when I'm trying to put it back on the little shaft that goes between my faucet and the tower is kinda loose.

What am I doing wrong?

THANKS!

Nothing. These things always work themselves free. Just gain access to the inside of the tower and you will see a nut that holds the shaft to the tower. Grab your faucet by with your hand, set it so that the top of the faucet is at 10 o'clock and tighten that nut. You can then hold onto the nut and turn the faucet back up to the 12 o'clock position and it should be tight again. Alternatively you can try to get a wrench in there and just tighten it up.

Turning the faucet will work , but if there is a elbow that the beer line is connected to, make sure that when you are done, the elbow is still straight up and down. If not , the beer line could pinch, thus causing nothing but foam. Once the nut in the tower is tight, you can take a hammer and punch and tap the nut until it is tighter. It should not loosen up for a while. Tapman

I find that if you use the faucet to tighten the shank nut, it often comes loose the same way. It is a bit crude but I get it straight and as tight as possible and then use a flat screwdriver and a hammer to tighten it down. Does some nicking on the nut, but is VERY effective. It will stay tight for a long time.
