Default Beer line question

So I got a kegerator from my cousin that came with the tap and handle and everything else. I am running into a weird problem, I think its weird. The beer port coming off of the tap seems to be 1/4", and will not fit a 3/16 vinyl line, but the one coming from the door will fit a 3/16 line perfectly. Do I need to change the on coming off the tap to be able to fit a 3/16 line? If so what is the part called and where can I get it? Is this important? Thanks for the help.
