    Default Bank vault beer cooler

    Dear Sirs,
I am opening a new bar in a old bank and wish to use the vault on the first floor as my keg walk in. Has any member had any experience with this idea? I want to use two mushroom towers with five faucets each. The run is over twenty five foot, so I plan on a glycol system. The first installer I spoke with here said the mushrooms would not work properly. That they would not maintain proper temp. Should I consider a different cooling system? I feel that mushrooms are necessary for decor reasons, are the glycol mushroom reliable? Thank you CJPiche

Your biggest obstacle will be to drill holes in the vault! There is a bar called Scoot 'N' Blues in Durango, CO that uses a vault for a keg cooler successfully. As to the mushroom towers, most are simple air shaft towers converted to glycol. Unfortunately, temperature conductivity can be poor. Check out the Kool Rite designed mushroom towers. They are designed specifically for glycol systems and have 100% stainless contact with the beer including the faucets.
