Default Superior 3 Keg Direct Draw System

    Hi

Does anyone have opinions on Superior keg equipment. I have the opportunity to buy a cooler with 6 taps that holds 3 ½ barrels, 6 couplers, taps and lines are included but no CO2. The unit is 5 years old and has been out of service about 5 months, unfortunately with beer sitting in the lines, due to a restaurant going to a walk-in system. I assume if I do buy I should replace all the beer line and take apart and clean all of the taps and couplers. They want $700 for the system and I would be using it in my garage at home What sort of CO2 system would be appropriate. Opinions welcome.

    Thanks

Superior brand is right up there with the rest of the commercial keg coolers as to performance. Evaluate the condenser on the unit to determine if it is clean. If there is a substantial build up, you may want to reconsider since the unit may have been neglected.

If possible, run the unit to determine if it can hold decent temperatures. If you purchase the keg box, take to a car wash and clean it inside and out. Do not get the electrical components too wet.

With this many faucets, you may want to purchase a primary regulator for the cylinder and secondary regulators for the individual products.

Replace the 3/16" beer line and pressure line. Disassemble all couplers and faucets, soak in cleaning solution, brush clean / rinse /inspect seals for damage, lube coupler probe o-rings and reassemble components.
