Default Replacing Nostalgia Tower

Well thanks to a friend that stripped the faucet (handle bounces around like a joystick now), I've decided to begin replacing all of the below par parts of my Nostalgia kegerator (meaning all of them).

First big issue is choosing the right tower. On the Nostalgia the tower twists into place manually with its base threaded to match the threads in the top of the kegerator.

Now looking at this tower:

It appears to take screws to get into place. First question would be if drilling into the top of the Nostalgia kegerator will damage its ability to operate in anyway. Second question would be if I can still get an air tight connection with this considering the difference in designs for connection, or if other modifications must be made to make it an airtight fit.

I don't now about the nostalgia tower, but the if the newer tower is larger (3" vs. 2") than the original, just remove the old mounting hardware, enlarge the hole on the top of the refrigerator, and mount the new tower.

The top of the refrigerator has no cooling lines in it, just insulation so you can make the hole larger if you want. It will be nice to have the larger hole to possible run a air cooling line into the tower for no foam pours.
