Spitting Faucets

What would cause a faucet to spit out of the end of the plunger (the one that is exposed on the front of the faucet) when closed? I have an account where 3 of them are doing this. Is there a fix? Thanks in advance for your help.

The faceuts are worn out, if you take the handle and move it sideways you will see the plunger move. Put them in some new all stainless steel, they are very strong and stay very clean.
