Default Q's on New Setup

Greetings Gents,

in the process of setting up a Pub, or maybe I should say, re-set up. Property was previously a Pub, but buddy sold off the draught gear already.

What I have is this:

1. walk in is directly below the bar, 13 ft. from bottom of kegs to faucets on custom Irish box, heavily insulated.

2. top of walk-in to faucets is 5 ft.

3. going 2 shaft air due to length, 265cfm. Straight down from box to blower.

4. 8 products on tap, 4 domestic, 4 micro-brewed, Guinness and Boddington's

5. with the rise, is a blender better than straight CO2, or would CO2 be OK for the domestics (MBs are also domestic) and 75/25 mix for the black stuff and Bods?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Steve

Straight CO2 would be OK, provided you had the proper restriction built into your system. 75/25 for Guinness/Boddintons. Correct. 8 products? 4 dom.,4 mb.+ Guinness and Boddingtons = 10? Tapman

Tapman,

cheers for the reply. I'm a Canuck-istanian here, so unfortunately, I'm limited to what I can offer. Prince Edward Island to be exact. You would think Prohibition was still in effect for selections here. Personally I'd prefer Murphy's over Guinness(bein' a Cork boy). I may very well trade Guinness to Gahan's Stout.

- 8 total on tap: Keith's IPA, Moose Light, Sleeman's Honey Borwn, Rickard's Red are the "domestic"; Gahan House Cream Ale and Island Red the "domestic" MBs with Guinness and Bod's as Imports. I'm seriously thinking of dumping the Moose Light , see above Gahan's Stout.

I doubt the actual serve of the normal 4 doms would be much different(crap, I've tasted 'em), so a 4 line distributor might suffice without seperate sec regs.
I'm a big believer in cask ales, but there is no friggin' way I can get them. I'd love some of Gahan's or Granite's stuff cask conditiond, but I'll have to beat the snot out of some bureaucrats first, before I can even consider that option.

Your math is worse than mine, 4 dom+2dom(mb)+2 imports= 8.

Any typos are Guinness Exrta induced.

lol, i have to agree with tapman's addition per your first post. 4+4+guinness and bods = 10!

anyway, i concur with tapman as well for the co2 being ok as long as your restriction is proper.

DOH! Guess I'd better stay away from that Extra Stout in the future, screwed up more than my spelling.

Gents, I stand corrected. And thanks for the replies.

Why mess with the aggravation of CO2. Install a McDantim dual gas blender and balance system to 22PSIG? Push ale / lagers with the 60% CO2 / 40% N and the nitro beers with the 25% CO2 / 75% N. Also, be certain to return that air back to the keg cooler. Do not use 3/8" ID vinyl for your trunk line.

You probably require about 20 feet of line between the keg and shank. Use two feet of 3/16" attached to 18 feet of 5/16" trunk line to the keg. These two lines will carry about 10 oz. of beer.
