    Default Busweiser American Ale

    Anyone try it yet?

I grabbed a 6 pack on the way home from work... not bad. It's definitely hoppy, not too overpowering though. About what I would expect from A-B, more of a drinking beer than a sipping beer. If they keep the pricing at $49 a sixtel I would probably keep it on tap.

I had some on tap last week, looked great, smelled great, tasted good. I hope it works as a stepping stone for people to search out more craft, local brews.

I grabbed a sixer of this on the way home from work, yesterday. This is exactly how I see this beer. It's actually a bit better than what I had expected out of A/B. I can actually smell and taste a bit of hop and malt in this one. But it's not heavy or overpowering, so it's perfect for someone who wants to try something different without jumping right into the deep end with an IIPA or Imperial Stout. You KNOW a butt load of people are going to try it just because of the name on the label. This will probably be a gateway beer into the world of craft brew for quite a few people. There are a lot of people hesitant to get into trying craft brews simply because the prices of $8-$10 six packs. But this one was only $5.99 a sixer.

In St. Louis here, there's an over abundance of bars that carry nothing but A/B products. i.e. "What do you have?" "Bud Bud-Light, Bud Select, Mich Ultra." If this were one of those A/B products, it would be the one I ordered.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might
be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."

I tried it this weekend at the "World Beer Festival" in Durham, NC this past weekend.

I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! Not being an A-B fan, I too, believe this to be a good starting point for those wanting to expand their range of beers.

I work for an AB wholesaler and we have been expanding our portfolio with different imports and craft beers. Since we started to bring these beers in house I habve been lucky enough to go to meetings and company parties where these new beers are being served. I started to enjoy more of the stouts and ales. I still like my lager after a long day in the Florida sun. But I think that this a good ale that is affordable. I make sure I "taste for freshness" where ever it is on tap.
