Default When to tap it???

When is it best to tap a keg? For example, I just bought a keg today (Wednesday), but wont be drinking it until Friday or Saturday night. Should I tap it now, or is it best to wait till it's time to use is? Is there a certain amount of time it should be tapped before use?

Thanks!

The best time to tap it is right now, unless it has warmed up a little on the way home. In that case leave it in overnight so the keg will acclimate to the kegerator. But I have tapped them as soon as I've gotten them home (short ride from the beer store) and have had no problems with most. Bringing a keg home on a very warm day seems to cause the most problems due to the temp rise. Otherwise there is no waiting time between tapping and drinking
