Default Beer Pitchers & Mugs

Where's a good place online to buy beer pitchers and mugs?
Does anyone have a cool web site where they have a nice variety?
Share your experiences on where one can find good items.
I know ebay is always good...and I have a nice plastic pitcher from Target.

Wondering what you all use?

I know you said online, but I found two nice sets of beer mugs at Target. Yet to find a glass beer pitcher that doesn't look like it should be holding sun tea instead of beer.

I love Target! So are you saying the one you found at Target looks like a real beer pitcher or not? I'm scared of glass pitchers with my friends around but If its affordable, I'll check into it.

Thanks!

Default Beer mugs and pitchers

I found heavy glass pitchers at Walmart for $4.99. They also had mugs for $1.99. I had already bought a couple nice sets of 4 mugs each at Bed Bath and Beyond for $10.00 - so passed on the Walmart mugs. You might also try Linens and Things also.

I think I got it backwards. The ones at Target and even Bed Bath and Beyond did not look like real beer pitchers. They were fancy and oddly shaped. I did see some "availible online only" pitchers on the Bed Bath and Beyond site that seemed ok, but I don't know for sure. I want to stay away from plastic pitchers since I'm using glass mugs.

Best deal I found on decent quality 12 ounce pint glasses was in the form of a set containing 4 glasses, a bucket, and a few coasters. I've seen them branded with different beer brands and different sports teams. Set usually runs around $20. Came across these at a shopping mall as the holiday season kicked off last year - I think it was at JC Penney or somewhere like that. I've seen similar sets for close to that price (plus shipping) on Ebay.

Picked up a few of the Big Hootie glasses on a trip to Hooters back in the spring too. Paid a few bucks over the regular charge to get to keep the glasses - 23 ounce, thick walled glass that drinks well and looks good.

I've tried the pilsner style available at most department stores but wasn't happy with them. The small ones weren't quite 12 ounces and when kept in the freezer (I keep all my glasses there with no ill results on the others) caused a TON of foam. The bigger ones (23 ounces) were too thin for their size and I ended breaking them all accidentally during the wash process.

Or you could just go to the bar and take a few "souiviners" home with you. Got all my Guinness pint glasses that way.

I got a bunch of custom pint glasses printed up for my wedding last year thru an online company; can do your own design on a variety of different glassware items - pint glasses, mugs, shot glasses, wine glasses, etc. With something like this there's obviously a discount with volume orders, but I don't think there was a minimum order. There was a setup fee and then a per glass fee that varied with quantity, but if you were looking to get like, say 12+ glasses to outfit a home bar, it might not be that bad of cost per glass.

I'll look for the link to the place where I got them, if you're interested in something like that I can post it.

I found restaurants and bars to be a good place to buy mugs, even was given a nice Yungling pitcher once, I guess some places just want your business more than others. Got a nice couple of Hops mugs, no longer open here though. Scored one from the Draft House, no longer open here, a sign of the times. Here we have a place called the Faith Farm, where people donate items for sale and they get a tax credit. Sounds like a place you might not want to get you glasses from, but once you run them through the dishwasher once or twice they clean up real nice. Good novelty items too. Glasses $.50 each. We also have here the World Market, a good source of not only glasses but other things as well.
Have a nice day, and only fill up your glass when it's empty

COSTCO has the Rubbermaid 60 oz. pitchers (polymer, not glass) for $6.60 each, which includes shipping. Only available on their website. I bought four of 'em.

If by mug you entertain the inclusion of a stein then a cool online site I've dealt with is Steinland Gifts & collectibles they have a lot of hard to get collector steins at fair prices. I'm new to this forum but I recall in the agreement that no advertising is permitted, but you asked for a site and I'm not connected to the company other than a buyer of their products so I think giving your the web address should not be advertising but considered a referral. So hear goes Steinland Gifts and Collectibles

What is that... a magician's set of cups? You can fit a whole pint of beer into a 12oz cup? I gotta see that.

I have about 20 pint glasses from various local bars/restaraunts. I used to take them, but now I always ask if I can buy one from the places. I've never had a place not sell me one. It's always been about $3.

I have a large heavy duty NICE glass pitcher that I won by collecting tickets at an arcade... I got it nearly 20 years ago. I was probably 15 or 16. I doubt you'd find beer mugs and pitchers at an arcade these days. M.A.D.D. would flip a lid.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might
be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."

Check around for local homebrew shops...I picked up a nice 60oz heavy glass pitcher for $13 several months ago.

Speaking of M.A.D.D. Cubby, they were directly responsible for removing beer coolers from our break rooms years ago when I worked at P.B.R. Got a bad feeling for them folks!
