    Default New Jockey Box

I just purchased complete micromatic jockey box with 50ft coil and I have been reading and reading and reading. It should arrive in a few days and I will have a 1/4 keg bud light on ice in a tub ready to go... just waiting for the UPS truck. Ok.... now I would like to have this empty in 48 hours and the tub will be packed with ice the entire time. (I know I need to add the ice bath after the coils are full of beer) and that I need to clear the headspace at night and set pressure to 14psi (using Co2 not beer gas)

It will have the vinyl 6 ft. standard jumper that is 3/8 ID where should I start my pressure at once I tap it? (I see that Co2 PSI in the 30's is used on the 120ft coils) I would like to start out at a lower pressure since I will be using just 50ft coil. I'm hoping that someone has a lower starting pressure that has been tested and proven.

    Thanks guys!

With everything being iced down I would bring the pressure up to where you get an acceptable flow. When you start getting above 14 psi the beer will begin to overcarbonate but if your finishing it in 48 hrs, should be ok. I have the same setup except my box has 2 50' coils. Takes about 20psi to get an acceptable flow. I back the pressure down to 14 if I let it sit overnight, than back up when the drinking starts.

    Default Thank you

20 psi was perfect...... the jockey box was a thing of beauty we typically had a pour every 4-5 minutes 50ft. coil is just fine for our purpose

    thanks again!!
