Default Rod and Faucet Setup

I'm thinking about setting up a rod and faucet system. I have most of the necessary hardware (regulator, Co2, gas line and coupler). All that I would need to purchase is a rod and faucet, washers and an insulator bag and of course: lots of ice. The keg would most likely be killed in 3-4 days depending on 1/2 barrel or 1/4 and social function.

It seems like it would be less finicky than a JB...but really can't say for sure at this time.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,
Chuck

I don't think jockey boxes are finicky. You've been around long enough that you know what's going on and shouldn't have any problems getting it up and running. There is the cost issue but other than that you can go either way. Heat might be an issue too if you live in a really warm climate.

Heat will not be an issue. I live in Canada.

Have you seen those heavy duty insulator bags from keg works? They seem a lot more durable than the ones at micromatic...just wondering if anyone can provide me with some feedback.
