when it's hot, the gas expands resulting in higher pressure. When it's cold, gas contracts, resulting in lower pressure. Your regulator is working correctly. Don't know what your setup looks like, but you'd get a consistent reading if you kept the co2 inside the kegerator/fridge so that it's temperature remained constant.

Blow up a balloon. The pressure inside is what causes the balloon to expand. Now stick it in the freezer. It shrinks because the air inside has contracted, resulting in less pressure against the walls of the balloon. Pull it out of the freezer, and when the air inside warms up, the balloon expands again.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might
be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."

yes I know that but I thought the regulator would hold a constant psi regardless of what was in the tank I know the pressure goes up when its hot but shouldent the reg keep constant psi on the keg thanks again .....

Normally when a low pressure gauge fluctuates this indicates a leak. Search forum on leak detection and perform this process.

Like the pro mentioned, something is wrong with the regulator if the pressure you're applying to the keg (low pressure gauge) fluctuates due to cylinder pressure (high pressure gauge).
