I assume you mean stainless coil, in which case it should work as long as you don't pour too many in a row. I have seen it done with a cold plate and the same applied. One or two beers is fine but at parties the plate doesn't cool off enough.

When kept in an ice water bath, you can pour continuously off a 120' SS coil. Can't do that with a cold plate though. I have poured several pitchers in a row off my 120' cooler conversion and the last one was just as cold as the first.

Why would you want to? If you have a fridge, adust the temp to 38 degrees liquid temp and you don't need to go through any more expense!

Heck of alot less beer in five feet of 3/16" than a 120' coil. If you can maintain the temp in the refrigerator to acquire 38 F beer, use the 3/16".

The main problem is I am coming out of the dorms with 2 mini fridge. Both too small for a keg, also I want to limit the ice I use to zero becasue of the wood floors in the loft im moving into. So I figure a coil and a split party pump is the way to go for about 200$ I can desperse cold beer all night, no ice, no precooling and I'm definatly not worried about leftover beer.
