Exclamation Help! Stinky Gross Party Pump

I borrowed a friends Micro Matic Party Pump only to find that it had not been rinsed out after the last keg (8 Months ago). It smells pretty bad and Im almost positive it has never been properly cleaned. Is there a way to clean this out without buying a cleaning kit? I didn't want to just dump it into soapy water without asking first. I need it for Friday and I don't have time to wait!!! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Take it apart and soak the coupler and picnic faucet in some warm solution of water and oxi clean and then rinse.

I really don't know what is in oxiclean. Whenever I clean out any refrigeration equipment or coolers or party pumps; I use white vinegar.
It is natural, and if any should accidentally remain in a system, well, it's probably healthier for you than the beer. No one has ever complained, rather they insist I have the cleanest pumps in town. I insist that the customers bring in their party pumps when they purchase a keg. I hate to see a nasty pump being placed on my nice fresh beer. Hey, ya gotta draw the line...err...draw the beer....somewhere.

When I was a teenager, we used WD-40 on a sticky party pump. Don't use WD-40.

An old girlfriend of mine... was so fine....but was she dumb. She did me the favor of cleaning out a fish cooler with pine sol. Never, never, never use pine sol or other pine cleaner on any cooler or refrigeration. You will never get the smell out of the cooler, and it will impart the smell on the products contained in the cooler. White vinegar is non-toxic, easily rinsed clean...and if its good enough for your lady to rinse out her...well...its good enough for your party pump. When you use a party pump, not only are you pumping air into your keg; but you are also pumping in any bacteria that has been growing inside. There may be a more effective anti-bacterial cleaner; but nothing is safer than vinegar. What other cleaner can you sprinkle on your salad?
