  • Pour trouble

OK I have a Micro Matic kegerator for around 5 years now. Just got a new 1/2 this past weekend & can't get a good pour. Last 1/2 was New Belgium Snapshot, this one is Killians. Thought last 1/2 might have been bad or something, but this one doing same thing. Cleaned line before tapping, temp same as it always has been 34-36, tower is cool, have turned Co2 up/down with no success. Almost sounds like a crackling noise when pouring, still getting 3/4 pint of foam. Any suggestions??

When you clean your lines, do you clean the faucet as well giving attention to the vent holes in the faucet? Also the coupler needs regular cleaning as well. Check the skirt washer on the coupler for damage also.
Malt is the soul of beer... and yeast gives it life..
but the kiss of the hop is the vitality of that life!

My three favorite beers: The one I just had, the one I'm drinking now and the next one I'll have.

      REECEGABBY,
I was going to suggest that you check the beer line and that it might be too close to cold plate or airflow, but 2 consecutive kegs, unlikely.
I'd check all the gear, clean and disassemble, as psychodad suggested.
This "crackling noise" is curious, depending on the area it is coming from. If from faucet, could be some dried out gunk got stuck in shank (did you leave gear without beer for an extended period of time?) and if from coupler, maybe check ball not sitting properly on retainer or stuck?
