  • BM 23 condensate line location

So I went to mount my triple secondary regular on the back wall of my BM23 and the right-most regulator bracket lines up exactly where the condensate line goes through the back wall. It seems as though the line goes is routed a little to the right after is goes inside the back wall, but do not know exactly the route. Anyone know how it's routed so I can avoid the area? Or better yet have an alternative area or different idea to mount the secondaries?

    clarkson,
I guess you mean condenser, I wouldn't worry about the tube too much as compared to what it is connected to, the condenser pan. Not sure where everything is but for sure the condenser tube drains condenser pan, which collects condensation, once you drill, it won't hold liquid.
I'd put the secondary on the side of unit, nothing to damage.

I agree with KillianBoy. We try to always place the regulators on the left wall above the compressor step.

which secondary regulator are you using? Some you can swing the brackets around the other way.If its a bottom screw I wouldn't be as concerned as if it was a top screw.
You can see in my setup I had to skip lower left screw because I was over the electric & refrigeration line.

You are wrong KB. A condensate pan collects water that has come off the evaporator coil, into the evaporator pan & down the condensate drain tube.

The condenser is attached to the compressor.

Anyway, to address the OP's concern... The refrigerant lines run up the back of the unit in a channel toward the right side as you are looking at the back. Steer clear of that area & you should be fine.

Thanks for the replies. I was wanting to mount the regulators on the back wall of the unit so the gauges would be easier to read (but now that I think about it is it easier to read mounted on the side?) as well as not take up any width inside.

I have the triple premium secondaries, similar to PointPLeasantNJBeerGuy setup, so its the top right screw that would get close to the condensate, as indicated in this pic:BM23-2_o_600x (1).jpg

I don't know the route the condensate tube takes in the back wall, if so I could adjust the mounting brackets to miss it.....

But, if I was to place high on left wall, does it take up the space needed for 3-4 1/6 BBLs? Harder to manage multiple beer and gas lines inside?

I do not recommend the side wall installation. Yes it will interfere with the kegs.
Another option. Make a back plate to mount regulator to first or some metal strips. Then screw into rear wall where ever you please.

                THE ICEMAN,
Sorry, condensate tube must be the technical term, most members have been referring it as drain tube, just assumed OP was misspelling word condenser.

                clarkson,
Guess my nutshell is make sure you check the back of where you want to drill before drilling, but most concede the left side is best (where most I have seen put the secondary). You can do as PointPleasantNJBeerguy says but double check back where you want to drill, mark and measure to see. If you plan on shoving as many kegs as you can inside, back might be your only choice but if 1 or 2 1/6 you might get side to work out.
