Welcome to the forum!
In no particular order...
Number 1... How old is it? The older it is, the more abuse or wear it has accumulated over the years. You can go on the True website & enter the serial number to find out how old it is. Remember, when you buy something used, a lot of times you buy someone else's troubles.
Number 2... How well do the door gaskets seal? If they don't seal, you lose a lot of the cooling capacity.
Number 3... Does it cool & hold temp? If it hasn't been running for a while, have your friend fire it up for a day or two & monitor the temps with a bucket of water inside. If it runs constantly & does not come down to temp there may be problems such as a low refrigerant situation or the evaporator freezing up restricting airflow.
Number 4... Does it make any 'out of the ordinary' noises? This one is a bit subjective. Listen for obvious noises such as a grinding or howling noise from the fan motors or a growling/tinny noise from the compressor. Units such as a True will normally be a bit more loud than what a household unit might sound.
Number 5... If it has not been in use for a while, I would recommend replacing the beer lines. They can get nasty after sitting for a time.
Good luck.

ok good..I would say score then..
Only other problem is that unit drains condensate and beer drain to a central hose out the front of the unit on the floor. So you will need to have a floor drain or do a bypass on the hoses to a bottle inside the unit.Last edited by PointPleasantNJBeerguy; 02-15-2014, 09:04 AM.
