  • "Creamer" Faucet for Stouts

My neighbor donated a "creamer" faucet to my favorite cause - my home bar. I am familiar with these being used for Guinness and other nitro stouts, but I was curious if it will have the same benefit for a straight CO2 stout. I am not sure what brand it is, but is has the backward motion and a long, straight and skinny nose with an internal screen. I'm thinking it may just cause foam issues rather than creaming up the head.

I'm not afraid to experiment with it, was just curious if anyone has experience using this type of faucet with C02.

Upon further perusal of this excellent forum, it looks like the answer is decidely a no. I've never run a nitro system, but I figured as much given the much higher pressures run for Guinness. If anyone has a different take, please chime in, but I guess I just have a nice ornament for my tap handle display.

I guess it must depend on what type of faucet it is. The Perl*** 575 creamer is used with CO2 and puts a big head on your beer. Doesn't need nitro, doesn't have to be a stout. It agitates the beer to beat the CO2 out of it.

It looks just like the stout faucet MM sells, with the internal restrictor plate.

If you pull out the restrictor plate you can pour anything through it at regular pressures. With that plate in you'll want to use a 75/25 Nitro/CO2 beergas at 30-34 PSI. At normal dispensing pressures (10-12 PSI) that thing will just drip like an IV bottle.
